My Plant-based Bio -
Hi! I'm Kent Dolan - another work in progress. For 49 years of my life I was an omnivore...a more apt description: carnivore. I grew up in "cattle country." My running joke: "a salad is the lettuce and tomato on my cheeseburger." Then, on a flirtatious dare [it's a long story], to try to snag one more date with Kate [my wife - it worked! ;-)], a long time vegetarian, I said I would give up meat for lent [okay, I'm not actually Catholic so for two weeks of lent]. Well that was 4 years ago! After just 2 weeks, I felt so amazing that I never looked back. Now I'm 99% plant-based [I've had dairy out on occasion] and soon will be 100%. Over the last year, Kate and I have immersed ourselves in learning about the health [and environmental] benefits of healthy plant-based eating and it is a big part of our lives now. Thus, we have the "nutshell" evolution of this plant-based lawyer and plantbasedlaw.com a/k/a plant-basedlaw.com!
My Lawyer Bio -
I'm a trial attorney "litigator" whose practice concentrates in all areas of litigation, including commercial litigation, contract disputes, personal injury, medical malpractice, no-fault, employment practice and appellate practice. I also perform transactional (non-litigation) legal work. My trial, appellate, arbitration and mediation experience in New York state and federal courts is extensive. I've successfully tried many cases to verdict.
Before joining Lifflander & Reich LLP, I was at Rubin Baum LLP. Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, I received a B.B.A. from Washburn University in 1987 and a J.D. cum laude from New York Law School in 1994. I am licensed to practice in New York State (1995) and Federal Courts (2000 - Southern and Eastern Districts, Second Circuit Court of Appeals).
